Each one belongs to one of four Regional Federations encompassing Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia-Oceania or one of the North American societies. The Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS) bridges immunology societies from African countries. The mission of FAIS is to promote research, clinical and animal care, and advocacy efforts that impact immune system-related morbidity and mortality.
The activities of FAIS are intended to complement those of other similar organisations. Currently, Cameroon, Congo, Egypt, The Gambia, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zimbabwe are represented in FAIS.
